Wootten is exactly the kind of local artisanal business United Places Botanic Gardens is committed to. Master cordwainer Jess Cameron-Wootten learned his trade by watching his father. Today, walking in his dad’s footsteps, he too makes custom-measured handmade shoes from the highest quality materials. With the support of his small team, Jess makes contemporary and traditional styles of shoes and boots, for women and men, all from his Prahran workshop and store.
As well as shoes, the company also crafts a wide range of handmade leather goods including bags, wallets, belts and sleeves for electronic devices.
Wootten even produces an explorer’s whisky glass holder (featuring a hand-blown glass made by Denver & Liely) that might make for a thoughtful pairing with our Sullivans Cove French Oak single malt.
Wootten’s bespoke footwear can take up to two months to craft; to begin the process United Places Botanic Gardens guests can arrange for their butler to book a personal fitting and measurement.
